CosmiChord is a Virtual Reality (VR) rhythm game, targetting Steam and Meta headsets like the Valve Index, Meta Quest 2/3, and the soon-to-be-released Steam Frame.
Much alike existing VR rhythm games like Beat Saber or Synth Riders, in CosmiChord you move your arms and body to hit objects timed to the beat of music. There are a few varying kinds of objects to watch out for, including:
CosmiChord comes with an Original Soundtrack (OST) of about a dozen licensed songs from artists such as Creo and BoomKitty. The OST is mapped by a fantastic level design team to have multiple difficulties, ranging from Easy difficulty designed for VR newcomers to Master difficulty for VR rhythm game veterans.
While having an OST is great, the limited number of songs will get old very fast. Thankfully, CosmiChord comes with a dedicated Level Editor to streamline the process of creating custom levels for CosmiChord.
The CosmiChord Level Editor is the bread and butter for the longevity of the game. Designed with the intention of being accessible and easy to use, the Editor is meant to feel like a second game for the players interested in level design. You are able to create and set up a new CosmiChord level in under 10 minutes, and with a couple hours’ effort, you will already have a completely finished difficulty to save and try out in-game. Within a day, you may even have a complete set of difficulties that are ready to be shared with members of the CosmiChord community! Dare I say, it is probably the best level editor in the VR rhythm game scene.
As of the point of writing this, CosmiChord is unfortunately still in-development. Even after the capstone concludes, there will still be some final polishing left to do before we are able to publish.
Watch this space! You will be able to purchase CosmiChord on Steam and Meta Quest marketplaces soon. The Steam version of CosmiChord will have the Level Editor bundled within. You will also be able to download the CosmiChord Level Editor for free. Furthermore, the CosmiChord Level Editor will be open sourced for any potential developers interested in tinkering with our editor.
